Executive & Corporate CoachingWe partner with managers, directors, executives and business people, especially women, in the coaching process to assist them in developing their leadership skills, enhancing their performance, and finding success on their own terms. Coaching enables our clients to get to the heart of their issues quickly so they can make choices with greater clarity, change their behaviors, and achieve their goals. Coaching, for us, is a true partnership in which we assist clients in raising their self-awareness and developing in the following ways:
Our goal is to help organizations develop the leadership capacity of their people. We have worked with managers, directors, and executives from small, medium and large organizations, including nonprofits and Fortune 500 companies. We believe that coaching should support both the individual’s and the organization’s goals and we consider our clients to be both the person coached and the organization contracting us.
When coaching our clients we utilize supportive tools to help us develop a clear profile of them. We use an "Integrated Leadership Self-Assessment," designed by Ginny O'Brien, to determine strengths and developmental areas from the client's perspective as well as a qualitative 360-Feedback instrument, also designed by Ginny O'Brien, to determine the client's strengths and developmental areas as they are perceived by those surrounding the client at work. We also include the DISC behavioral style assessment to gain a deeper understanding of our clients' communication and behavior styles. In addition, we are also qualified to use instruments such as MBTI, CPI 260, Firo B, and Benchmarks. Our clients include companies such as: Avery-Dennison; Banta, Inc.; Battered Women’s Resources, Inc.; Bingham McCutchen, LLP; Bingham Legg Advisors LLC; IDC, Inc.; New York Cares; North Shore Magnetic Imaging, Inc.; Texas Instruments; Thomson Financial; Omgeo LLC; Vanassee Hangen Brustlin, Inc.

Women's Business Boston named Ginny O’Brien one of its Top 10 Coaches for 2007! People Are Saying...“After 15+ years as a successful executive with a strong reputation for performance and leadership, I was a bit taken aback when my manager suggested I work with a coach. It's true I was facing one of the toughest years of my career. I had in-fighting among senior members of my team. Our products were not where they needed to be, and the clock was ticking on our fiscal year. I interviewed a number of coaches, but it was my interview with Ginny that made me see the possibilities of coaching. Coming out of the interview with Ginny, I immediately began to adapt one aspect of my management style that I continue to maintain today. Our subsequent discussions were equally insightful and productive. As an outsider she saw patterns and behaviors that were not obvious to me but which needed to be addressed. She further helped me vet solutions before taking action. I now realize that the offer of coaching was not a lack of confidence in my abilities but an invaluable investment in my career. The results? My team is once again strong and successful and I continue to apply the lessons learned to many situations.” VP, Professional Services Firm “Ginny combines her extensive knowledge of organizational politics and interpersonal behaviors with empathy and (un)common sense to help her clients forge their best career path. Whether I was focusing on a development challenge or gearing up for a new opportunity, Ginny provided the encouragement and guidance to help me achieve my goals and remain authentic to my values. As a result, I’m a happier, more successful person today.” Alyssa Gilmore, Director of Marketing, SunGard BancWare “Ginny has played a pivotal role in my continued growth and success. She has excellent insight and judgment. Ginny is patient, a good listener and extremely skilled at asking the right questions. She is able to get to the heart of a situation and to discuss it objectively and within the business context. Her ability to keep me grounded, gain perspective and realize who really owns an issue was invaluable. I have matured as a person and as a leader. Ginny cares about her clients and without her coaching, I would not have achieved this level of development.” Lesley Ficarri, National Director of HR, Major International Law Firm “Ginny's coaching has helped me develop better strategic management and planning skills. Working with her I've also strengthened my leadership abilities and enhanced my overall effectiveness in communications and marketing. In a dynamic work environment, her results-driven approach to business situations has helped me get results that have been noticeable, measurable and long lasting.” Jeff Bellows, VP Marketing & PR, National Nonprofit Social Services "Agency" “Working with Ginny has raised my awareness about my behaviors and enabled me to make positive changes, improving my level of performance, my ability to build better relationships with my managers and peers, and to lead my team. Ginny's skill in highlighting behaviors and situations without pushing too hard or being judgmental or making me feel guilty has allowed me to make my own choices and move forward in the right direction.” Angelique McGuigan, HR Director, Thomson Financial “When I met Ginny I was trying to identify what was going wrong with my management style and I was struggling to figure out how to make the most of my time. Together we were able to boil out some key problems and create a personalized toolkit for me to use when confronted with my hot button issues. Ginny was never afraid to tell me when she thought that the root cause of a problem was something in my style, and that was what I valued most. Ginny is smart, honest and a straight shooter. I wouldn’t have made the progress I have without her by my side.” Nick Allison, IT Manager |
